Scholarship & Tutiton Assistance Guidelines: Requirements to obtain a scholarship from VAIA 1.) Applicants considered for scholarships should not be currently employed or have a job offer from an insurance company or agency.
2.) Must be at least 18 years of age by the beginning date of the scheduled class dates.
3.) Be a legal resident of Virginia; hold a principla place of residence within Virginia or declare yourself a resident of Virginia on your Federal and Virginia tax return.
4.) Absent of any convictions of violations of law other than minor traffic violation (criminal background check from your home state will be obtained as part of this application process)
5.) Have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
6.) Score above a 21 on the Wonderlic apptitude test, administered through VAIA/Insurance Career Institute. Important Instructions/Information for Applicants: 1.) Once you have downloaded the scholarship application you MUST complete the application IN FULL AND ATTACH TWO RECOMMENDATION FORMS. Make sure that all the information you supply is correct and complete. Failure to do so may result in disqualification.
2.) Application to the Insurance Career Institute must be made at same time or prior to consideration for tuiton assistance or scholarship
3.) Scholarship criteria will include the student's scholastic level exam and essay from application for Insurance Career Institute.
4.) Scholarship/Tuition Assistance must be used within one year of awarding
5.) Scholarship/Tuition Assistance will be paid directly to Insurance Career Institute on behalf of the student
6.) Scholarship/Tuition Assitance shall be paid for the tuition costs of Insurance Career Institute programs. Lodging and other student costs will not be paid by the scholarship/tuition assistance awarded.
