Virginia Association of Insurance Agents (VAIA) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) education foundation founded in Richmond, Virginia in 2004. The goal of VAIA is to promote educational resources that teach insurance basics and to enlighten individuals on the career opportunities that exist within the insurance industry.
VAIA was created in 2004 to provide a training resource for individuals who wanted to start a career in the insurance industry. In 2006, VAIA held its first four week training course. At that time VAIA only offered one training program.
Today, VAIA focuses on a broader spectrum of education. Not only does VAIA provide training resources for individuals looking to get into the industry, it also is active in getting insurance literacy into Virginia communities. VAIA training resources include pre-licensing classes and Personal/Commercial lines weeks.
VAIA has partnered with many high schools, colleges and organizations throughout Virginia to provide guest speakers to speak on insurance basics and insurance careers. VAIA also helps schools implement the INVEST program, a national program that brings insurance into the classroom. JumpStart and Junior Achievement are two organizations VAIA works with to promote financial literacy as well.
For individuals looking for a career or internship in insurance, VAIA created a Career Board that features insurance jobs and internships from all over Virginia.
VAIA is very excited about helping Virginia communities learn about insurance literacy and and the career opportunities that exist within the insurance industry.
